Resumes, certificates and scanned contracts often need submitting to systems that only accept images — application portals, government platforms and internal OA systems mostly take JPG/PNG uploads only. Converting the PDF to per-page PNGs is the most direct answer, and 2x resolution passes the vast majority of clarity checks.
It is just as handy for content sharing: convert a PPT-exported PDF page by page and you can post straight to social feeds or embed in articles — platforms that do not accept PDFs directly. Charts from academic papers also come out far sharper than screenshots.
If the exported PNGs come out large (a single page at 3x can be 1-2MB), run them through the compressor: document images have few distinct colors, so PNG palette quantization typically saves over 60% while keeping text razor-sharp.
