WeChat compresses large images automatically in chats and Moments, with an uncontrollable algorithm that often turns portraits and text screenshots into a blurry mess. Images under 1MB are barely touched by the recompression — compress your photos here first (the server keeps the best quality within that size), then send via WeChat for much better results.
HEIC photos from iPhone can be uploaded directly and will be converted to WeChat-friendly JPG. EXIF metadata is removed by default for privacy. Tip: when sending in a chat window, check "Original" to further avoid recompression.
